Hello there! My name is James 'Jimmy' Strickler (formerly J & G Tile). My business partner and great friend Greg (Jim & Greg Tile), moved on to other endeavors, therefore I changed the business name to AKA Tile and Stone. I have more than 35 years of experience in the remodeling trades. I started as a tile installer in the early 90s, primarily in bathrooms and kitchens, and have become a craftsman who loves the shapes, form, and application of tile. But over the years, I have expanded my skills to include everything from plumbing to electrical and all forms of finishes.
Though complete bathroom remodeling is my specialty, most recently I have completed multiple basement remodeling projects from framing to completion. I am confident in performing most any project, occasionally calling in trades if necessary to help. However, I generally complete 90+% of the work myself. Along with my loyal sidekick/nephew Mike Mares.
I take great pride in my remodeling expertise, craftsmanship, work ethic, and the ability to build a personal relationship with each and every client.
For over three decades, the demand for my services has been based upon return customers. By the end of a project, it is usually time for a hug. :)

From initial consultation, design, demolition, framing, and complete rebuild, I am personally on site every single workday, as it is me who you hire. I actually perform the work that I am hired to do myself. This includes all aspects of a project from planning, framing, plumbing and electrical, to the finished result. My installs are performed above and beyond local code requirements. I use a dust evacuation system that eliminates 90+% of the dust caused by the construction process.
My desire is to insure quality at reasonable cost. Quality being the utmost of importance to me. I will never install subpar materials and I strive for highest quality, over and above what is required.
Please note: Re-grouting and repairs alone are not something I typically perform unless added to a project, as my skills are best used in full installations. I also perform tons of 'honey do's' on almost every project with enthusiasm! Just as I do for my wife and mom. :)

As much as possible, I try to minimize disruptions to your daily routine. I understand how obtrusive a remodeling project can be.
On larger projects, I will occasionally hire reputable subcontractors . I will not hire subcontractors unless it is beneficial for the timeliness project.
I am personally at the site every workday throughout the project. Because I take great pride in my work, I make sure everything is right the first time. No excuses.
And again, I always use my dust evacuation system that eliminates 90+% of the dust caused during the construction process.
